Philly Miniatics – Club #776
If you are looking to join a local club to share your talents, develop more skills, or just to become part of a group of people who share a passion for miniatures, come join our club!
Our current membership is made up of all skill levels and we come from various Philadelphia suburbs (Philadelphia, Montgomery and Bucks County in PA, and Southern New Jersey. We are a working club who enjoy learning and sharing all of our skills and experience.
We meet twice a month – the first Saturday from 11am to 4pm at The Warminster Library (where we work on a current club project) and the third Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm at The Bensalem Library (which is our business meeting and then we do small, roundtable type projects). See the page called ‘The Club Attic’ to see some of our past projects.
We do many things throughout the year. We make items for our National Convention every year, we display at 'Philadelphia Miniaturia' the Cherry Hill Miniature show, we take road trips to see miniature shows and stores in other states, we have made a dollhouse and furnished it for charity and we host a NAME Day event the first Saturday in October.
The purpose of this National NAME Day is to unite and involve all members of NAME by doing the same project on the same day at different locations throughout the US and internationally. Participation in an event will occur locally, regionally, through the Gazette, and online.
Philly Miniatics – is a N.A.M.E. Club
N.A.M.E stands for National Association of Miniaturist Enthusiasts.
Only through sharing can we really enjoy our treasures
The National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts was founded in 1972 by Allegra Mott to promote the craft of miniature making through the association and friendship of its artisans, craftsmen and collectors. NAME is an educational, non-profit organization dedicated to the miniature collector and builder through sharing ideas and experiences among its members. Our goal is to link people of like minds in order to share our love of the hobby that captivates us.
